Software updates have been paused and hotel rooms have been booked as trading rooms across the world get ready for the US election rollercoaster. The polls open in a few hours and then we wait or we trade. Initially currency and bond markets will reflect fluctuating sentiment along with stock futures. The unknown is here. What we know is that the sun will come up on another day as it always does – at least we hope so.
Franklin Templeton Suffers Huge Outflows
Net fund outflows have now reached $53 billion since August at Franklin Templeton. This follows the revelation that its subsidiary is facing an investigation from the US Department of Justice and the SEC. Its co-chief investment officer, Ken Leech, has received a Wells Notice informing him that he in under investigation. It is understood that the firm of accused of “cherry-picking”. This is the practice of favoring clients when allocating trades. The asset manager is rushing to cut costs and reform trading practices.
