Sunshine Dreaming
As I sit in my garden enjoying the rare London sun, I dream of a perfect life.
This welcome sun fills me with optimism and gives me Californian ideals leading me to conclude that anything is possible.
My thoughts then turn towards my work (no such thing as work-life balance in my world!). I think of the financial services sector in which I spend a large amount of my waking hours and, in particular, I think of the world of corporate governance.
On this sunny day, I see myself as having a future in promoting not ideals but essential practices and disciplines in ensuring the financial services sector plays its role in the “Big Society”.
What does this mean?
It means that financial services companies exist for one reason only – to channel funds from people that have some to spare to people that need funds to pursue their hopes and aspirations for the greater good.
Why else would we need a financial services sector?
