Monday 12th July 2010 – Excited Anticipation
As readers may have worked out, last week was rather emotional for me as I bid farewell to my newsletter, Stop Press.
This week represents a new beginning as I write this article from the BA Departure Lounge at Heathrow Airport.
I am about to set off on my trip to Singapore and Sydney feeling like an excited child. I have been lucky to visit c. 45 countries and yet I feel a rush of anticpation as I wait for my flight to be called.
Singapore represents a challenge for me and Risk Audit. Can we push ourselves to establish a business overseas? Who do we employ? What will they do? How will we oversee the business? How will the market take to a newcomer? These are all questions I am hoping to answer in the next four days as I meet clients, recruiters and seek to understand what the UK government can do to export an entrepreneurial British company preaching the message of strong corporate governance in financial services.
The second leg of the journey will take me to Sydney where I will be running a one week seminar for an international bank’s internal audit function and speaking at its audit conference.
As part of my therapy I intend to keey readers posted on my progress and thoughts.
Its cloudy and dark at Heathrow.
Talk to you soon.
