Should internal auditors have a political view. More importantly, should internal auditors express their political views? There comes a time when the answer has to be yes. That time is when the very fabric of our societies is perhaps threatened in a way that hasn’t happened since many years ago. I would like to commend the Global Institute of Internal Auditors for its commentary on the firing of a number of Inspector Generals.

Goldmans Analyst Pays
A former Goldman Sachs analyst has been convicted of insider trading and ordered to pay £587k in confiscation. Mohammed Zina was also sentenced to 22 months in prison. He was prosecuted along with his brother in the FCA’s first insider trading conviction for five years.
Staley Challenges FCA
Former Barclays boss, Jes Staley, is preparing for his day in court. He is appealing against an FCA ban from the industry for failing to disclose the extent of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The regulator plans to submit emails indicating that he continued to deal with Epstein well after the time he informed the FCA that he has ceased communicating.
