Risk Audit Professional Development is Born
Your editor would like to inform Stop Press readers of a key change in the direction of Risk Audit and its business structure going forward.
The Company was formed in 1999 to focus on providing a quality service to internal auditors working in the financial services sector.
It started out as a recruitment firm but very quickly the training business became an integral part of the service we provided to the City and the wider Financial Services Industry.
However, over time, I have decided to focus much more on professional development, not only in internal audit, but also in respect of all other forms of corporate governance in the financial services sector, including operational risk and the other assurance functions.
Over the past few years it has become abundantly clear to me that working alongside a recruitment business causes untenable conflicts of interest, not to mention the severe time burden of being involved in two separate enterprises.
As a result, in July I took the difficult decision to split away from the recruitment arm of the business.
Risk Audit Professional Development was born.
The new enterprise will focus on bringing our loyal and valued clients the following key services:-
- quality public and in-house classroom courses (watch this space for more news on enhancements that will set Risk Audit apart in this niche area as well details of this term’s classroom programme);
- a webinar library seeking to bring courses which combine product / theme with risk and control but which can be accessed anytime and anywhere;
- Mentoring programmes aimed at supporting the development of professionals under stress and attack.
This leads me to announce that I will be supported by Chris Hollands as my new business partner. Chris is a highly experienced City professional with extensive managerial exposure to operations, compliance, internal audit and the developing world through his long association with Standard Chartered and a number of US banks.
Risk Audit Professional Development’s new web address is www.riskaudit.com and your editor’s new e-mail address is [email protected] .

We look forward to your continued support over the coming years as we endeavour to ensure the financial services sector plays a more responsible role in our wider society.
As we embark upon this new journey, we felt the need to articulate what we hope to achieve for our clients and what it means to us. With this in mind I think it is appropriate to end this message by sharing with you our new mission statement:-
“We believe training is an investment of conscience and are committed to the development and transfer of essential technical and human skills around corporate governance to our clients. We aim to provide this in such a way as to ensure they get the maximum benefit from our knowledge and experience whilst at the same time ensuring that the financial services industry improves its contribution to society as a whole.”
