Bullying in the Workplace
Over the years I have become increasingly concerned about the possibility of human beings controlling other humans in the workplace. Some may call this a form of bullying. Whatever expressions one uses there can be no excuse for people playing mind games to make themselves feel better. Today’s workplace provides ample opportunities for people to indulge themselves in this fashion given the threat of job losses and the general effect of the credit crunch. To what degree is the human resources function acting to educate management and staff of the dangers of bullying? To what degree are there provisions for staff to blow the whistle?
